The Versatility of Plastic Bags

In today's world, people often take the convenience and versatility of plastic bags for granted.  We use them for practically everything...from carrying our groceries home from the store, to stuffing them full of trash for the garbage collectors to take away.

The biggest problem with plastic bags is that many of them end up in our waterways and in the ditches along our roads.  There are so many of them littering our countryside, spoiling the natural beauty of the land and harming our wildlife.  But it doesn't have to be that way.

Many people don't realize that they can recycle plastic bags, or that there are many ways to re-use plastic bags.  I always carry a few of them in my car so I will have one if I need it.  And I like to take a few with me when I go to the grocery store to use instead of getting new ones every time.  I use durable plastic bags when I pick apples or berries.  I also like to use plastic bags for shipping instead of foam peanuts, and they are great for storing things in.  One of my favorite uses is to use them to make braided rugs.

My daughter likes to use plastic bags to store her craft supplies, so they're always ready to pick up and take along with her when she goes to a friend's house to craft.  I'm actually considering getting her some plastic bags specially made with her name on them.  I've seen custom plastic bags offered by International Plastics, and I think that would make a great gift for my daughter.

There are so many ways to reuse plastic bags, and the important thing is keeping them out of our waterways and countrysides.  Whether you use them to create something, store something, carry something or come up with some other great way to reuse your them, you will love the versatility of plastic bags because the possibilities are endless!
