You won't be able to put this book down!

If you are looking for a great book to read, I highly recommend Sarah's Cross - A Ghost Story.  I received a digital copy of this book to review, from the author Dean M. King, and the publisher Austin Macauley Publishers.  It is available in the following formats:  paperback, hardback and ePub for $8.36.  This story grips you from the very beginning, and it holds on until the very end.

Tommy Ryan was unprepared to meet a ghost, yet there she was, waiting anxiously at the edge of the forest, eager for his help.  Bound to the place where she died, Sarah is unwilling to move on until Tommy helps her reconnect with her mother and solves the mystery of what happened to her soldier father, who went missing in the Philippines during WWII.  But time is running out for Sarah.  She has delayed her departure for too long, and now a dark and brooding presence is determined to take her into a place of utter desolation along with anyone else who gets in the way.

This book is set against the backdrop of Wisconsin's vast Northwoods, a grand lake home and a small rustic cabin.  Sarah's Cross is a tale of innocent life interrupted, family tragedy and the kindness of a stranger who stands up to darkness when it comes claiming its victims.

You will find yourself quickly drawn in, anxiously turning the page to see what happens next.  You won't be able to put the book down as Tommy searches for answers and ends up with more questions.  This book held my attention until the very end.

The author of Sarah's Cross is Dean M. King.  He's an American author who lives with his wife, Kelly, and their son on Northeast Wisconsin's Door Peninsula.  He's a member of the Horror Writers Association and the Great Lakes Association of Horror Writers.  He finds inspiration for his stories in remote areas of Wisconsin's vast Northwoods, on the islands that lay off its coasts and among the stalwart bluffs of Southwest Wisconsin.  Whether he is writing about a dreadful creature that crawled from the Mississippi River, or a drag race between a street toughened hoodlum and the devil, his stories will haunt you long after you read the final page.  Dean has published several short stories in online and print venues.  Sarah's Cross is his first novel.  And as riveting as I found Sarah's Cross, I think we will be reading many more books written by him in the future!

  1. It's a wonderful book and I'm going to be reading everything this author writes. Stephen King may have set the standard, but there's a new "King" of Horror - Dean M. King.
