I received this product from Lifestraw for review. Purchase your own Lifestraw for $19.95.
Every serious hiker, backpacker and adventurer runs the risk of getting lost or stranded in the middle of nowhere. I'm talking about the people who like to explore remote areas and rugged terrain. Anyone, really, could find themselves stranded with no supplies. Maybe you are driving in a remote area and run out of gas, or you get lost during a nature hike. Or even, God forbid, you are involved in an accident, whether it be car, train or airplane, and find yourself stranded with no idea how or when you will be rescued. Water is essential for survival in these situations. But it is dangerous to drink from the water sources you might come across in these situations, because of the bacteria, parasites and other contaminates that are found in rivers, lakes and streams.
If you have a Lifestraw, you don't have to worry about these things. You can use it to safely drink directly from rivers, lakes and streams. It will filter out nearly all of the bad stuff and prevent the majority of waterborne disease. The microbiological, hollow fiber membrane filters to 0.2 microns and removes:
• 99.999999% of bacteria (including E. coli)
• 99.999% of parasites (Giardia, Cryptosporidium, etc.)
• 99.999% of microplastics
It will also filter out silt and sand from cloudy water. It meets US EPA drinking water standards for bacteria and protozoa reduction.
The Lifestraw is small enough to be easily carried. It should be a part of any survival kit. But this can also be used in non-emergency situations. Go camping in isolated areas and use your lifestraw instead of lugging bottles of water with you. Take it with you when you go exploring. You never know when you may need to use it. If you have a LifeStraw, you will be prepared for any emergency. And for people who live in areas that have no clean water source, LifeStraw can be a life saver!
The LifeStraw has unlimited shelf life if it is unopened. Once it is opened, it can provide an individual with more than 5 years of safe drinking water. LifeStraw is a must have for any survivalist, hiker, backpacker, adventurer, camper, or anyone! Give it to someone you love this Christmas!
I have a few of these and they are an amazing thing to have on hand and I think everyone should have one honestly... especially avid hikers and outdoors enthusiasts. This is a great stocking stuffer :)
