Children as young as age 3 can learn to play Chess with Story Time Chess.

I received this product from Story Time Chess for review.
Story Time Chess is a revolutionary new game that lets you teach your child how to play chess at as young as the age of 3!  it is priced at $49.99 and you can purchase it directly from their website.

Story Time Chess is a board game that teaches chess to young children using silly stories, vibrant illustrations, custom chess pieces, a unique chess board, and an engaging card game.  The stories and supporting materials communicate the rules of chess to children ages 3 and up in a way that makes learning chess simple and fun.  Best of all, no chess experience is required for parents or children to learn.

Stories are an incredibly powerful educational tool.  Children have an astounding ability to retain stories down to the last detail.  Telling a child an abstract rule may only confuse them because they have nothing to connect with.  Instead of telling children what something is, Story Time Chess is perfect for showing the rules of chess, through stories.

Each chess piece has its own story and exercises that explain how the piece moves in a fun, silly, memorable way.

The board has characters that match the pieces, making board setup easy!

We’ve developed over 30 minigames that teach children the rules of chess effectively, including a card game that encourages children to use every chess piece.

With our custom chess pieces, the children are able to connect the stories to the pieces more easily.  By visually seeing the characters and physically touching the pieces, children are able to learn chess without realizing it.  Each piece is designed to hold the character from their story in order to communicate the rules of chess effectively–and have fun!

Our double sided chess board and custom chess pieces are made from high quality, child friendly materials and are regulation size for tournament play.  Players can either use the story themed side with all of our characters, or the standard chess side for regular chess.

Parents want to do everything possible to get their children ahead.  Chess is a game that has been proven to be beneficial for people of all ages.  Learning chess leads to increased test scores, stronger critical thinking skills, an ability to plan ahead, improved executive functions, and so much more.  When learning chess, the younger you start, the more beneficial it is.  However, chess has rarely been accessible to children under the age of 7.  For young children, Story Time Chess is like a set of training wheels for a bicycle.  Parents can get their children ahead by experiencing the full potential and impact chess can have by introducing it to their children at the youngest ages possible.

  1. The second version of this game, is an incredibly unique and inventive way of teaching kids as young as three the rules of the game in a really fun and easy way. In this spirit, there is a book by Makism Aksanov, with chess puzzles for kids (net-boss org/chess-puzzles-for-kids-by-maksim-aksanov). If you liked Story Time and its approach to chess and want more, check this book.
