These Bamboo Straws are a great alternative to plastic straws!

I received this product from TheOtherStraw for review.

Plastic pollution is a major problem.  One billion plastic drinking straws are used every day around the world.  These straws end up in our landfills, oceans and waterways, polluting our environment and affecting both current and future generations.  Plastic waste is killing our marine life.  Over 8 million tons of plastic is ending up in our oceans every year and marine life is swallowing that plastic.

You can also find plastic and other trash littering our beaches, National Parks, city streets and even country roads.  It's ugly and it's harmful to our wildlife.  Plastic straws are among the top 10 plastic items found in beach clean ups every year.  Jamie-Lee Kay and Lennart Meijer, a couple from Australia, were horrified by the negative impact the straws were having on marine life and humans all over the world and decided to do something about it.

Together, they founded TheOtherStraw, an affordable and reusable drinking straw that is made of organic bamboo in Vietnam.  These bamboo straws are organic, handmade, biodegradable, 100% natural, durable, reusable and sustainable.  They can be taken with you wherever you go.  After they are used, simply hand wash them in warm water (using the cleaning brush made from 100% natural coconut fiber that comes with your straws) or pop them in the dishwasher.  Once washed, they are ready to use again.

You can purchase the Original Bamboo Straws on TheOtherStraw's website.  They are available in a 2 pack for $6.75, a 5 pack for $10.12 and a 10 pack for $13.49.  These would make excellent stocking stuffers for anyone on your gift list.
