Host A Little Ghost and the Story of the Mystical Mums

I received this product from the author for review.

Host A Little Ghost and the Story of the Mystical Mums was written by Coauthors Kevin McCormick and Lillian Stulich.  It is beautifully illustrated by Bill Dishon.  This is a heartwarming story that follows Tommy and Suzie, who are twins, through their adventures during the days before Halloween.  A new friend arrives in town, brought by an autumn whirlwind.  This friend is a little ghost who teaches them the true spirit of caring and sharing.  And the joy of the Halloween season.

The book comes with an adorable little plush ghost for your child to cuddle and play with.  I thought this was a very nice touch.  The toy ghost even glows in the dark, which is always a big hit with the little ones.  The book and toy comes packaged inside a reusable trick or treat bag, which is another awesome touch.

The author lives in New Jersey, and in October of 2012, Superstorm Sandy devastated the area.  Trick or Treat was cancelled, but the kids decided to "treat" the people who were hit so hard by the storm.  They worked in storm shelters, had fundraisers to raise money and they donated food, clothing, toys and other supplies.  Children and their families volunteered their time and energy to help those who had been "tricked" by the storm and where in need of "treats".  This was the inspiration for this book and toy.
